Gourmet Giveaway – Free Tickets to the Taste of Melbourne

I’ve never been to Taste of Melbourne before but after attending Taste of London a few times in the UK I’m interested to see how the concept translates over here.  This year Taste of Melbourne is going outdoors and will be held at Albert Park lake.  It runs from Thursday 15 November to Sunday 18 November.  There are master classes, demonstrations and menus of starter size dishes including restaurants like Mamasita, The Aylesbury, The Point, and Taxi.  Participating chefs include Ben Cooper of Chin Chin, Frank Camorra of Movida and Philippa Sibley of Albert Street Food and Wine.

Taste of Melbourne has given me five double passes for Gourmet Chick readers that are valid for Thursday and Friday.   The double passes are worth $50.  To win you can leave a comment below listing your favourite Melbourne restaurant or like the Gourmet Chick Facebook post on this giveaway.

  3. FAVOURITE MELBOURNE RESTAURANT. That’s such a hard one. For a combo of everything – food, drink, atmosphere and value for money – it has to be Chin Chin. It’s so distinctly Melbourne, I don’t think you could find a place like that anywhere else in the world.

  4. It will be interesting to see how the Taste of Melbourne goes at Albert Park – especially seeing as how erratic Melbourne weather is! Movida is my favourite restaurant, always lives up to the expectation every visit.

  6. I love Movida original for a truly Melbourne experience – get there early, sit at the bar and delight in the tastes of Melbourne.

    I went to the Taste @ Royal Exhibition Centre last year and it was fantastic – hopefully the weather will hold out this year for the outdoor venue.

  9. Chin Chin is definitely my favourite restaurant. I have my favourites, but everything on the menu always delights me!

  10. My favourite restaurant is Cutler and Co.
    I still daydream about the gorgeous pork belly I had there. Delicious!

    But after seeing the bloggers photos of the Taste preview, Mr Hive might just be my new favourite. Gotta love lollie bags!!

  11. Oh Cara MoVida is just like a little taste of heaven! Ok so I know that MoVida is notorious for booking out weeks and weeks ahead (of course with only about 12 bookable tables) so the first time I went we managed to swing by early enough on a Saturday to get a spot sitting up at the bar Spanish style! Oh my how delish was everything! I love the idea of having many little bites rather than the traditional entree and main and let me tell you many little bites were had and then some! From the funny, professional yet amiable staff to the scrumptious morsels of delight arriving at a steady pace this was an eye opening experience on how dinner should be done. My cravings for this place are so strong that I’m usually at one of it’s conceptions at least once or twice a month, even if it’s just for a sneaky cider and my favourite tapa – anchovy topped with a smokey tomato sorbet – yummo! Wonderful food, wine and people – some of the reasons why this place has been so hot for so many years now!


  12. Favourite place depends on my mood – love the whole Gertrude st precinct with recent highlights being casa ciuccio and moon under water. Always enjoy sitting at the bar of one of many city restaurants such as bar lourinha, coda, cumulus Inc, movida next door. Donovans is great for a celebratory lunch. a bowl of pasta at Tiamos before catching a movie at nova is great too. Hope I win! Shelton.clare@Gmail.com
