Frankie Says has finally opened in Abbotsford. This all day cafe with fabulous views of the Yarra and a gorgeous terrace launched last year but only actually opened a few weeks ago and I was invited along to check it out. It’s located at the bottom of the apartment blocks opposite Ikea and can be a bit tricky to get to if you enter from the street rather than via the bike path along the river.
The wait was worth it though because Frankie Says is serving up some of the tastiest breakfast dishes in town. The pancakes there are hands down the best I have had all year. Check out how pretty they are as well. An edible work of art.
Thumbs up also to the scrambled eggs with mushrooms spiked with shards of prosciutto ($19). The eggs are creamy and mushrooms meaty in a generous serving size.
Frankie Says serves up Melba Coffee which erred on the side of being scalded on my visit but this was the only negative of my meal.
Frankie Says also does a mean line in cakes to accompany your coffee. It’s worth popping back later in the day for the charcuterie board as well along with a cheeky glass of wine.
Gourmet Chick was invited to review Frankie Says.
