I usually like exploring new places on holidays but my trip to Noosa last year was so good that I just had to go back. The only downside to last year’s trip was our accomodation as we booked so last minute there wasn’t much choice at all. This year I was sorted thanks to an invitation to check out the Mantra French Quarter which is right on Hastings Street.
Hastings Street is the place to stay in Noosa as it is where all the restaurants and shops are as well as being as close as you can get to the beach. This prime location means accomodation on Hastings Street is pricey but Mantra French Quarter offers a well priced option as it’s on the non-beach side of the street. I also like that Mantra French Quarter is closer to the National Park which has one of Australia’s best runs/walks (depending on your fitness!) from Hastings street to Hell’s Gate.
The rooms are self contained apartments which are really well equipped. Our room had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, European style laundry facilities, a kitchen and living area and its own outdoor courtyard area. The kitchen in particular is well stocked with a full size fridge and all the crockery and cooking utensils you need. The only thing missing was a BBQ although these can be hired for an additional fee.
Our room looked out over the pool area which has just been revamped. Set under soaring palm trees it’s every bit the tropical paradise with a few different sized pools and spas. Our three year old was in heaven and it was hard to coax her away from the pool to go to the beach.
There’s complimentary wifi and great food options in the form of Locale Italian restaurant at the front of the complex and new opening the Noosa Hot Bread shop which is excellent for coffee and croissants in the morning.
Given you’re right in the thick of things there’s really no need for a car at Mantra French Quarter (although free parking is available for guests). It’s the perfect place for a hassle free holiday where everything is just a short stroll away.
Gourmet Chick was a guest of Mantra for one night and paid for a second nights stay independently.

Gourmet Travel Tips
- We flew into Brisbane airport and hired a car then drove the hour and a half to Noosa. Maroochydore airport is closer but there were more flight options to Brisbane. There are also shuttle services if you don’t want to hire a car.
