Finding a good AirBnB is a real art. It’s sometimes hard to tell from the photos exactly what the place will be like and there are limited reviews compared to hotels. But when you do happen across a good one the thrill is real. That was the case with Villa Villa Coola at Peregian Beach, about 15 minutes drive from Noosa.
My friend Eliza (who sadly couldn’t make the holiday) is just as obsessed with boutique hotel Halcyon House as me so shortlisted Villa Villa Coola for a break after discovering Halcyon House’s designer Anna Spiro also had a hand in Villa Villa Coola.
As soon as I walked in I recognised Spiro’s signature style with vibrant colours and patterns giving the house a stylish but relaxed feel. Tones of blue and white dominate the huge comfy patterned couches heaped with cushions, our favourite place to lounge around in the evenings.
It’s hard to do Villa Villa Coola justice in photographs as it’s difficult to capture the sheer scale of the place. It’s absolutely huge and we shared it between three young families. There are three double bedrooms (all with their own ensuite) and a kids bunk room as well.
We loved the short walk down from the house straight onto what felt like our own private beach (we rarely had to share it), the fully equipped kitchen which had everything from an aeropress for quality coffee to a Nutribullet for smoothies, the wood fired pizza oven on the deck and the rooftop “Martini bar” with its 360 degree views across the beach and Noosa hinterland.
It was easy to get into Noosa for the restaurants and shops but most of the time we chose to chill out at the more relaxed Peregian beach. Who would want to leave a place like this?
Details: Villa Villa Coola, Peregian Beach, Queensland
