On average, about 53,000 people visit Disney World each day.

If you’re going to be visiting Disney World often, you might want to consider getting a DVC membership.

You might be on the edge about whether or not it’s worth it, but if you keep reading, we’ll convince you why it is!

1. Nicer Rooms

One of the best perks about being in the Disney Vacation Club is that you have access to get nicer rooms. They are always better than your standard rooms.

For example, you could stay at the Wilderness Lodge, the Contemporary Resort, Beach Club, Old Key West, Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, the Grand Floridian, or even the Riviera Resort.

While these rooms would be more expensive without the DVC membership, you can also get them at a discount.

There are three different accommodations that Disney World resorts offer: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. When you book through the DVC, you’ll automatically be booked with a Deluxe room.

However, before you book a room, make sure you check the DVC expiration dates to ensure that you can secure the room today!

2. Discounts on Annual Pass

Another added benefit is that you’ll get discounts on an annual pass to the parks. If you live in Florida or California, this is a great perk for you because the passes are only available to residents.

On average, you can save about $100 per pass. This applies to the Platinum and Platinum Plus Annual Pass.

However, for everyone to get the discount, you’ll only be able to get it for people in your household. So if you have a family of five, you’ll be able to save $500 each year!

In the past few years, the discount was more, but it’s changed over the years. This means that it could be an even bigger discount in the future!

3. Hop Pools

With a Disney Vacation Club membership, you’ll be able to hop around and go to all kinds of pools. There are about nine resorts that participate in the program, and if you have the membership, you’ll be able to hang out at whatever pool you want.

However, there are a few pools that you aren’t allowed to hop to, so make sure you ask before you hang out there. There are still over twelve pool options that you can enjoy, and it’s exclusive as well! Unless you’re a DVC member, you won’t be able to get into the pool.

You can hang out at pools even if they’re not at the resort you’re staying at! This can be a great perk for your family to help break up the days at the parks.

Sometimes they do stop pool hopping during the holiday months, so you should also ask the desk if you’re allowed to do that at that time.

4. Free Laundry

If you’re going to be staying there for a long time, you’ll also get access to do your laundry for free. However, you will have to do it yourself.

This might be difficult to find time for on vacation, but you won’t have to pay for detergent or the machines to use them.

If you can’t find any detergent, you can go to the front desk and ask them for it. You can do laundry as much as you want while you’re staying there.

Depending on the room you book, there might be a unit in your room. However, there are laundry rooms at the resorts as well.

5. Larger Rooms

Not only are the rooms nicer, but they’re larger as well. You can get a one or two-bedroom villa for your family.

The one-bedroom villa will be able to sleep four people comfortably, and there is also a king bed in it. It also comes with a pull-out sofa to fit your other guests.

If that or the two-bedroom villa isn’t enough, you can also ask for a three-bedroom bungalow, cabin, or even a treehouse! The DVC wants to make sure that you’re feeling really at home and not cramped in a small hotel.

However, the larger rooms are going to need more points for you to reserve, which means that it is more expensive as well.

The housekeeping is also different from a standard hotel as well. They will come and take the trash out every few days, but you’ll be responsible for making the bed and doing all your laundry.

6. Special Events

Lastly, you’ll also be able to get access to special events that are just for members of the DVC. They aren’t big events, but they can be fun to go to while you’re already down there.

This is a perk that is especially great for people who live nearby and can stop by whenever they want.

Some of the events they’ve had in the past include:

  • Safari Spectacular
  • 25th Anniversary Bash
  • Typhoon Lagoon Beach Bash

During these events, you’ll get unlimited ice cream and refreshments. There will also be special entertainment shows, and you’ll get to see characters from Disney that you don’t normally see.”
