I’m a North of the river girl but it doesn’t take much to get me to cross to the South side, particularly the promise of an amazing brunch. I had heard a few good things about newly opened Sth Central in South Yarra, particularly from MTV who had a great dinner there recently, so was
It’s not all just cocktails and dance floor action at The Emerson. This month Chandon is taking over The Emerson’s rooftop for “Chandon in the City” and I got invited along for a sneak preview of what’s on offer. There’s fabulous Chandon sparkling and wines along with a menu based on that served at Domaine
To say I was slightly excited about Entrecote opening in South Yarra is an understatement. You see Entrecote is “inspired” by legendary restaurant chain Le Relais de l’Entrecote in Paris. A meal at Le Relais is one of those must do Paris experiences. Around since 1959 the waitresses at Le Relais are kitted out in black
If I work up the motivation to walk or jog around Melbourne’s Tan I usually like to reward myself with lunch or at least a coffee. Up until recently the options were fairly limited but now wunder chef Shannon Bennett has taken over what used to be The Observatory cafe and transformed it into Jardin

With all the excitement over the opening of Adriano Zumbo’s first Melbourne store last week it’s easy to forget that just around the corner is the excellent LuxBite. It seems that South Yarra is officially Melbourne’s sweet spot with Burch and Purchese also in the neighbourhood.
Have you heard of the cronut? It’s a cross between a croissant and a donut. The combination and term “cronut” was invented by New York baker Dominique Ansel. Ansel worked as an executive pastry chef for Daniel Boulud for six years and created queues down the road to his bakery after coming up with the cronut.
Update: B’Stilla has now closed in South Yarra Your Moroccan education at B’Stilla begins just trying to say the name. It’s B-stee-ya in case you’re wondering. The name comes from a Moroccan savoury pastry which is one of the must order dishes at the latest restaurant from Jason Jones of Mamasita fame.
